Q: What is the cost of a Virtual Vist?
A: FirstMed Virtual Visits are $49 or you can use your insurance.
Q: Will insurance cover my visit?
A: Some insurance companies do cover virtual visits, but we always recommend you check with your health insurance provider to be sure. If you choose, FirstMed will bill your insurance. Your responsibility will vary depending on your plan.  Co-pays, co-insurance and deductibles may apply. If you choose to use your insurance at the time of check-in you cannot change to Self-Pay afterwards.
Q: What if additional tests are needed?
A: If the provider can' t diagnose or treat your condition via a Virtual Visit they may ask you to come to the clinic.  If you come in to the clinic by the end of the next business day we will wave the Virtual Visit fee ($49).
Q: What do I need to have a Virtual Visit?
A: You will need these items:
  • Smartphone, tablet or laptop with a camera and microphone
  • an updated web browser (Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Microsoft Edge.)
  • Internet connection
Q: Can I get a prescription?
A: During your virtual urgent care visit, your provider can prescribe medications for you. Your provider will send your prescription to the pharmacy of your choice. However, your provider may not be able to prescribe controlled substances and pain medication. Depending on your situation, your provider may not be able to prescribe medications you get from your regular doctor for chronic/long-term conditions. You also shouldn't use virtual urgent care for regular medication refills.
